Dinner Guests at St James the Less is a project of assisted portraits took place for regular users of the Open Space service who could come for a free meal once a fortnight, it was mainly used by a regular group of predominantly male rough sleepers. This was a collaboration with the guests and myself where they chose how they wanted to be photographed within the church using lights and a medium format film camera which contributed to creating a kind of formality to the process of making the portrait. Each week I would take in the prints and we would discuss them and take new ones. A few people took polaroid photographs themselves.
